My Approach
Do you feel overwhelmed by daily life? Do you struggle to do or find things that bring you joy? Are you stuck in a cycle of surviving the day rather than living it? Do you struggle to manage your emotions? Life can be challenging and unpredictable at times, however you can learn to not only cope, but thrive, in the face of these difficulties. Through therapy, we can work together to discover skills and strategies that will move you away from fighting and pain and towards pleasure and fulfilment.
I’m Katey and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association working towards the completion of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. My passion is helping people through their struggles into discovering and living their best life. As the expert of your own life, I view my role as your therapist as being a collaborator, cheerleader, advocator, and pillar of unconditional support. Through modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy, I take a strength-based, solution-focused, and trauma-informed approach to help you achieve your goals.
I primarily support individuals dealing with situations, thoughts, and feelings that are overwhelming their ability to comfortably and happily live their lives. I focus mainly on concerns of stress, anxiety, depression, anger, and ADHD.
Feel free to reach out for a free, 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. Once you make the courageous choice to begin therapy, I would be honoured to meet you where you are at and support you through your journey to your most fulfilling life.
